There are countless benefits associated with donating to charity. Many people donate purely out of the goodness of their hearts. You are aware of the fact that there are people out there in need, and you donate to make sure that they get what they need. You may also decide to donate to charity for the tax benefits, or because you have clutter that you want to get rid of. It does not matter why you donate to charity, simply that you find a reason to do it and get it done.
